CACCWA SBRN Team recently hosted an inspiring Marketing for Business Success workshop in partnership with the Filipino Community Center of Seattle on June 11th, 2024. The event featured two remarkable guest speakers: Michelle Hontz and Channa Bun, both successful business owners from our local communities.
Channa Bun: Owner and CEO of Dashing Digits Mobile Salon LLC (@dashingdigitsnails), serving the Seattle Cambodian community with exceptional mobile nail services.
Michelle Hontz: Owner of Seattle Manila Store & Cafe (@seattlemanilastorecafe), renowned for the famous Filipino dessert Halo Halo, and a balikbayan box company shipping goods to the Philippines.
Michelle and Channa shared their personal stories and business journeys, discussing the challenges they faced and the strategies that led to their success. They emphasized the importance of finding your “why” and passion, and the value of making people feel seen and heard through connection and community.
Both women are passionate about helping their Filipino and Cambodian communities thrive, and their dedication is truly inspirational. They market their businesses extensively through social media, using platforms to reach a wider audience and engage with their community. Additionally, they rely heavily on word-of-mouth promotion, with their communities spreading the word and showing immense love and support. This combination of digital and personal marketing has proven to be highly effective for them, allowing them to build strong connections and a loyal customer base. Please support their businesses when you get the chance to visit Seattle.
Our monthly workshops, in collaboration with the Cambodian Community Council of Washington and the Filipino Community Center of Seattle, have been a tremendous success. We look forward to continuing these partnerships to support our diverse and vibrant BIPOC business communities.
Warm regards,
CACCWA SBRN Team
